Cinnamon Swirls

Ingredients
  

  • 120 ml Mik
  • 1 large Egg
  • 335 g Plain flour
  • 7 g Fast Action Dried Yeast
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 70 g Granulated sugar
  • 60 g Butter
  • Filling
  • 75 g Butter at room temperature
  • 45 g Brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Ground almond
  • 2 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 90 g Sultanas
  • 60 ml Honey or golden syrup
  • Icing
  • 80 g Icing sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Milk
  • ½ tsp Vanilla essence

Instructions
 

  • Mix the dough ingredients
  • in the Bread Machine dough setting;
  • or by hand and knead. Leave to rise in bowl covered with a cloth
  • Prepare a baking tray, lightly dusting with flour. It will not be baked in this tray.
  • Prepare a 2nd baking tray by dusting with flour. This will be the one going in the oven
  • Tip the risen dough on to the baking tray and spread out evenly to less over the tray.
  • Mix the filling and spread the filling evenly over the entire width but leaving about 2 cm from the each of the long edges.
  • Roll the along dough and filling, like a swiss roll, by the long edge
  • Cut the dough with metal dough scraper into slices about 15-20mm thick and place on the 2nd baking tray (you may need 2 trays)
  • Cover the swirls and leave to rise. This could take 2 to 3 hours
  • Bake in fan oven 180C for 15 mins
  • Place on a cooling rack.
  • Mix the ingredients for the icing and drizzle over the swirls
