All about fish

Today I was at the fish market. I have a couple of favourite fishmongers based on helpfulness and how well they fillet fish when asked.

Red Sea Bream

Today, I decided to try red sea bream. I bought 2 fish, already gutted for £5. I was told just put olive oil and salt and then barbecue  – so that’s what I did, and served with barbecued sliced potatoes and petit pois.

The flesh is white and flakes into large pieces. Not easy to serve in 2 whole halves – though I’ll try that again with the 2nd fish.

How to gut a fish

At the market you can choose to buy fish already gutted or completely filleted while you wait – or you can buy several fish just as they are for a cheaper price. Don’t try to cooking fish without gutting it!

Go to this website and read their instructions. It’s a fishing website. https://www.downthecove.com/fish-2/how-to-gut-fillet-fish/
