Biolomix Stand mixer BM6178
Specification
The mixer has a 4 litre stainless steel bowl and comes with three attachments: whisk, dough hook and beater. The mixer is rated at 1200W and has 6 speed settings. This model is available in red only. The larger models, 5l and 6l, have more colour options.
Mine was bought in March 2019 and is used regularly a few months of the year. It comes with a choice of moulded plug to suit your country. As I am using mine in France, I ordered it with an EU plug.

Review
I have used this stand mixer primarily for mixing dough and so is mainly being used slow to medium settings. Noise level is quite acceptable. It is powerful enough for what I am using it for on a regular basis. Very happy with its use and the results.
I have also used the beater in making Ciabatta.
Would I use this to make butter icing? Yes, if the butter was fairly soft.
It is not a heavy machine and the suckers underneath are not reliable enough to hold the mixer on faster settings especially on a wooden work surface. I am OK with this – I just would not walk away from the machine while mixing. It did end on the floor once – and survived without a mark!
This year, the wire whisk attachment came to pieces. It has been rarely used and has never been in the dishwasher so a bit disappointing. I could manage without a whisk attachment but I will get the replacement from the supplier.
(Edit: The supplier was quick to reply but sadly the whisk attachment is no longer available for this model)
I have mentioned a couple of negatives here but overall, I am very satisfied with this mixer at the price (currently about £115, I paid about £80 at the time). It’s not a KitchenAid but then its nowhere near the cost of a Kitchen Aid. Price includes delivery – check details in case this changes. The price always appears to show a massive discount but seriously no-one would pay £425 for this machine – but £115 is fine. The 5 litre model was released after I bought mine, and for the difference in price, you’d probably opt for that one and would seem that the 5 litre is now the main model.
