Cinnamon Swirls
Ingredients
- 120 ml Mik
- 1 large Egg
- 335 g Plain flour
- 7 g Fast Action Dried Yeast
- ¼ tsp Salt
- 70 g Granulated sugar
- 60 g Butter
- Filling
- 75 g Butter at room temperature
- 45 g Brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp Ground almond
- 2 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 90 g Sultanas
- 60 ml Honey or golden syrup
- Icing
- 80 g Icing sugar
- 1 Tbsp Milk
- ½ tsp Vanilla essence
Instructions
- Mix the dough ingredients
- in the Bread Machine dough setting;
- or by hand and knead. Leave to rise in bowl covered with a cloth
- Prepare a baking tray, lightly dusting with flour. It will not be baked in this tray.
- Prepare a 2nd baking tray by dusting with flour. This will be the one going in the oven
- Tip the risen dough on to the baking tray and spread out evenly to less over the tray.
- Mix the filling and spread the filling evenly over the entire width but leaving about 2 cm from the each of the long edges.
- Roll the along dough and filling, like a swiss roll, by the long edge
- Cut the dough with metal dough scraper into slices about 15-20mm thick and place on the 2nd baking tray (you may need 2 trays)
- Cover the swirls and leave to rise. This could take 2 to 3 hours
- Bake in fan oven 180C for 15 mins
- Place on a cooling rack.
- Mix the ingredients for the icing and drizzle over the swirls
